Power Yacht Charters

Will I need a Captain?
Depending on your sailing experience, you may already be qualified to skipper a NauticBlue Yacht. Simply fill out our online sailing résumé,and we'll review your experience and tell you what you are already approved to charter.

Can I afford a Power Yacht vacation?
Yes, you can. The "per person" cost of a boating vacation is usually at or below the cost of a resort vacation or ocean cruise, without the crowds! For an estimate of your vacation, visit our Vacation Planner for a preview of your costs.

What kind of a boat should I charter?
That all depends on you. Your NauticBlue vacation can be tailored to fit your party and your preferences. How many people are you chartering with? Are they couples traveling together or do you need single cabins for some guests? How much space and comfort would you like? Whatever your needs, NauticBlue is sure to have a yacht that is right for you.
See our Charter Fleet section for a complete listing of yacht models.

What documents must I carry to meet entry requirements?
While some island nations do not require a passport, you’re always advised to carry one when traveling from country to country. For detailed entry requirements, please check with the consulate or embassy of the nation you wish to visit.

Is NauticBlue a full-service travel agency?
Yes, NauticBlue will make all of your travel arrangements, including air travel, hotel accommodations, car rentals and land tours at the lowest fares available.

Will I save money by purchasing my airline tickets through NauticBlue?
Due to our high volume of air travel, we have negotiated lower rates than those typically offered to the public.

What type of equipment will I find on board?
NauticBlue yachts carry up-to-date equipment including GPS satellite navigation systems, autopilots, and CD players with cockpit speakers (on most models). The below deck areas are modified from standard factory production models to give you more room, comfort and luxury. For a complete listing of equipment and amenities found on board, see What's Included.

Do you provide boat and chart briefings?
Yes, NauticBlue provides excellent preparation for our guests. Prior to your charter departure, you will be given a complete chart briefing covering the local cruising grounds, and answering any questions you may have about navigation, anchorages, prevailing conditions, clearing Customs or any part of your desired itinerary. We will then give you a complete briefing aboard the yacht you will be chartering, covering all the operating systems, including electrical system, water system, anchoring, stove, head, dinghy, outboard and emergency systems.

What time can we board?
You will board your yacht at noon on the day the charter starts and disembark at noon on the day the charter ends, or in our Bahamas location embark and disembark at 10 a.m. You may also choose to board your yacht the night before your charter begins under our Evening Starts program.

How do I provision my Yacht
Yes, you will be supplied with preference sheets to complete prior to your charter. On all yachts, we can accommodate special diets (salt fat, etc.)

What type of clothing should we pack?
The keynote is simplicity. Casual and breezy beach attire is certainly the order of the day on deck, though for evenings ashore, slacks or a sundress are appropriate. Rubber soled shoes as opposed to hard soles are recommended aboard our yachts, so wear boat shoes or tennis shoes. You may find aquatic shoes convenient for beachcombing. Above all, protection from the sun is vital – lots of suntan lotion, wide-brimmed hats or caps, and loose-fitting cotton cover-ups. For cool or windy evenings, a windbreaker comes in handy.

Will I be able to make and receive telephone calls?
Yes, all of our yachts have a ship-to-shore radio aboard in addition to cellular telephones on most of the yachts.

What travel documents do I need?
While some island nations do not require a passport, you’re always advised to carry one when traveling from country to country. For detailed entry requirements, please check with the consulate or embassy of the nation you wish to visit.

Are children welcome?
Yes! In fact a NauticBlue Power Yacht Vacation is perfect for your family.

What about air travel arrangements?
NauticBlue operates a full-service travel center that can arrange all aspects of your vacation, including low, negotiated airline arrangements, hotel accommodations and even side trips to local attractions.

Yacht Ownership

Can you create a program just for me?
Yes, we have the flexibility to tailor a program to each and every individual. We’ll help you find a program that meets your financial and recreational needs, and place you at the helm of your own yacht.

Why should I buy a charter yacht?
Statistics show that the average yacht owner uses his yacht 25 to 30 days a year - about the same amount of time owners in the NauticBlue Advantage program use their yachts. What’s more, your yacht is expertly maintained for you and even earns you money while you are not sailing her.

How do I get paid?
Statements are produced monthly and your share of the charter income is paid at that time. Choose a High-Yield Income plan, based on gross charter revenue, or opt for a conservative, fixed Guaranteed Payment plan.

What about expenses?
To this, there’s a short and simple answer. NauticBlue pays for everything - dockage, maintenance, insurance, etc. You only pay for consumables you use when you sail your yacht.

How well is my boat maintained?
Your yacht will be maintained to the most rigorous standards in the industry, a program of meticulous care executed to the precise guidelines of NauticBlue manuals. NauticBlue employs its own professional maintenance staff year-round, and stocks the necessary parts to keep our fleet in top condition, so owners and charter guests experience fewer equipment failures and less downtime.

Can I give away my charter time?
Absolutely. You can share your owner's time with friends, family, employees or charities, and they’ll be given all the service and support NauticBlue would offer to you.

What happens at the program’s end?
You have several options. If you choose to take possession of your yacht, we can organize delivery to a port of your choice. You may wish to trade-in your yacht on the purchase of a larger NauticBlue Yacht. Or you may want to offer your yacht for sale. NauticBlue can help you with all of your end-of-program arrangements.

How do I decide?
There are a number of yacht ownership programs from which to choose. We invite you to investigate them all. We repeatedly hear from prospective buyers, as well as those who eventually buy a Moorings yacht, that our people, product and program are without equal. Let us prove it.
